What happened during Day 7

This day started as all the others, but a nice visitor was about to come and greet our participants, the shadow theater master Christos Pafios came in the morning to prepare his show and to amuse us with his stories and experiences about the shadow theater in Cyprus, a really old tradition that everyone was willing to watch.

The show didn’t start immediately. Before everyone see the shadow puppets in a play, our young Europeans had to create their own puppets with the materials they were provided. And we could see some interesting and imaginative results!

After the crafting it was time for the real show. Mr. Pafios started his shadow tale with the story of Karagiozis, an old joker who used to make everyone laugh but who was sent to prison due to his laziness and taste for jokes. The play was incredible, and everyone laugh and had fun with the show, even some of the participants had the chance to participate in the play taking one of the puppets and moving it behind the screen.

When the show was over, and after the lunch, our attendees, divided in groups, had to investigated about their own traditions in shadow theater in their countries, with some weird results that were not so related with traditional shadow theater but with different kind puppets or modern shadow theater.

The last part of the evening was reserved to work on the videos for the final part of the youth exchange, our participants were working really hard on them, and we can expect a really nice videos in the next days.
