Like the day our participants went to Kyperounta, they had to wake up a little bit earlier if they wanted to enjoy another beautiful town in the mountains of Cyprus. The chosen town: Agros.
Agros is well known for its local products... different kinds of meat, wine, honey, and everything you can imagine is made out of roses. Yes, roses.
The trip to Agros started with a visit to a local shop where our European explorers had the chance to hear how the different meat products were made and the process behind them, and even more important, they had the chance to eat some samples of it!
The next stop was in a little factory were the locals of Agros made sweets and other products out of fruits, and they could take a walk around the workers who were really kind and let our participants take hundreds of pictures and videos of them.
The last visit was to the rose factory. Here, the tradition-recorders listened to the story of this family business and also some information about the manufacture of the roses and how to turn them into drinks, candles, chocolate and much more.
After this three visit it was the time for a free walk around the town until four o’clock, where our youngsters recorded some shots of the town and interviewed locals in order to create their videos for the next days. Some people in the meantime has learned how to play the typical Cypriot backgammon!
At the end, a presentation about the Youth Center of Agos was conducting by Nikolas and Eva, and they could watch a few interesting videos and heard some facts about one of the most successful NGOs in all Cyprus.
After a whole day running up and down in Agros the people needed some rest, so the rest of the evening was free time for everyone. More adventures awaits for the rest of the week...
