Trip to Kyperounda and stories from Dymes!
The third day started a little bit earlier than the previous ones, but for a good reason! A trip to Kyperounda was waiting our participants. The biggest village in the mountains of Cyprus was hiding some stories and history.
The excursion in the village started with a visit at the famous churches of the little town, and impressively, one of them was built more than 500 years ago! A small museum about the traditions and habits was the next visit, followed by the house of one the EOKA heroes from Kyperounda, who was fighting for the in independence of Cyprus in 1955. This interesting tour was made by locals who love their village.
After the first hours it was time for our young tradition-seekers to discover the village more by themselves. They were divided by groups and started to complete the tasks they were in charge in order to learn more about the tradition and the habits of the village. And everyone did it!
After the lunch served once again by the members of the Youth Club in Dymes, it was time to explore more about storytelling. Once again they were divided into groups, and all of them had the same mission: Tell a story about the Red Boots. The participants wrote some amazing and creative stories in the little time they had, realising how different can be a tale and the way to tell it even if we’re talking about an object.
Keeping working on storytelling. European youngsters got the chance to learn more about the different methods of expressing and explore a story. They had several stations where they needed to create and express their stories own personal stories based on their experiences, thoughts, poems, activities, wondering, etc. And the product couldn’t be better!
And that’s all for the third day, see you in the next one!
