In our headquaters we welcomed mr. Christos, who turned out to be a passionate shadow-puppets master. To him the art of shadow play is a family legacy, entrusted from one generation to the next. His grandfather used to travel afoot all around Cyprus, and sleep in inns, where he gave performances.

Mr. Christos looks back to his childhood with great fondness. He explained to us that his father’s voice-changing skills always enchanted him and also shaped his way of living. Now it is his turn to pass down his family and country’s traditions through entertainig audiences.

He also gave us the opportunity to create our own figures, having brought cardboard-reinforced cut-outs. We seized it and colourful puppets were born. In the meantime he shared with us a tale about poor Karagiozis, his son and a wedding.

The workshop stimulated us to explore the art of shadow play of our countries, which was nice and unusual activity. It also showed us diffrent way of acting and a little bit of Cypriot culture.
